Different types of rib-and-slab floors consist of similar elements: prefabricated beams and filling the space between the beams of hollow bricks. A concrete slab with a layer of concrete overlay above the hollow bricks is poured over the laid ceiling, forming load-bearing ribs along the beams. Most of the ribbed ceilings available on the market have beams with a length adapted to the module 0,3 m. Hence, rib-and-slab ceilings are convenient for use in buildings with a multiple axis spacing of the walls 0,3 m. The ceiling beams are then placed to the wall axis.
The structure of the Fert ceiling consists of prefabricated steel-ceramic beams, on which blocks are placed, in one of 3 varieties:
1) strop FERT-40: rib spacing 40 cm, ceiling height 23 cm,
2) strop FERT-45 : rib spacing 45 cm, ceiling height 23 cm,
3) strop FERT-60: rib spacing 60 cm, ceiling height 24 cm.
