Plank floor on wooden joists on a ribbed ceiling

The floor on the joists is an example of finishing the raw ceiling using the dry method. On the ceiling slab, on the tarpaulin straps, wooden squares are laid, in the direction perpendicular to the roof span. Thermal and acoustic insulation made of soft glass or rock wool is distributed between the joists, available in plates or in rolls. Then, floorboards of thickness are placed on the joists 3 cm. This structure is recommended especially when the existing ceiling should not be loaded with an additional concrete slab (wet method) and in attics, in which the floor structure should be combined with elements of the wooden roof truss (foundations, walls, etc.)

Underfloor heating systems are not used in the floor on the joists, because there is no heat-accumulating layer in it, and the wooden floorboards have insulation characteristics.
