Thermal insulation of pitched roofs:
• Thermal insulation between the rafters – In the case of a highly vapor-permeable underlay, the insulation can be applied to the entire height of the rafters. When the rafters are covered with full boarding or a low vapor-permeable underlay, leave a ventilation gap above the thermal insulation (about 2,5 cm).
• Izolacja cieplna między i pod krokwiami – If there is not enough space between the rafters for thermal insulation, this additional insulating layer can be placed under the rafters, between the supporting grate of the plasterboard interior sheathing
• Izolacja cieplna ponad krokwiami – Placing the insulation above the rafters eliminates the problem of thermal bridges created through the rafters, and at the same time it allows to leave the roof truss exposed from the inside. However, this is a solution that requires an additional supporting structure under the roofing.
The insulation fills the entire space between the rafters.
Insulation between the rafters with a ventilation gap left and additional insulation under the rafters.
Insulation between the rafters with two-channel ventilation and full boarding on the rafters and additional insulation under the rafters.
Thermal insulation with the surface method above the rafters with insulation between the rafters allowing to show the truss.
