Entrance to the building on the lower level of the ground floor – entrance landing connected to the door by a steel lattice platform.
When designing the entrance to the building, special attention should be paid to the solution of connecting the door sill with the entrance platform.
During heavy rainfall, the threshold of the door is exposed to the penetration of rainwater, which has not been discharged due to the minimum slopes used on the landing of the stairs. An additional problem is the water splashing and the water blown onto the door sill by the wind.
The figure shows such a solution of the entrance platform, which eliminates virtually all operational problems. The steps moved away from the external walls are connected to the door with a steel grid made in a frame made of a steel angle. Thanks to the use of an openwork grate, water does not collect on the landing, and the grille allows convenient cleaning of shoes. In addition, the solution significantly simplifies the design of the building's ground floor and plinth within the entrance.
