Cement for building bridges
Difficult operating conditions for bridges and viaducts (cyclic freezing, Vibrations, defrosting salts, abrasion), require the use of sufficiently strong and resistant concrete for their construction, and therefore cement with special properties, e.g.: CEM III A i B.
Cement produced specifically for the above-mentioned structures is of the class 42,5 with a specific surface of from 2800 do 3000 cm²/g. It contains at most 3% C3A, of 50 do 60% C3S and alkalis < 0,6%. This cement is characterized by slight shrinkage and increased resistance to the sulphate environment.
After 3 days is obtained 45% final strength, a po 7 days 65%. It can also be used to build road surfaces, even though there is a special cement for road construction.
