Sequence of execution of foundations and waterproofing

tmp18f2-1In cohesive soils, the foundation lava for small buildings can be poured directly in the excavation, which allows you to avoid time-consuming formwork. Foundation footings are made under all construction walls. Between the benches, a coarse sand ballast is made and covered with fleece.

A reinforced concrete floor slab with a thickness is made above the footings 10 cm. The interlining spread over the sand bed prevents the concrete from spilling in the sand. A reinforced concrete floor slab is a much more durable and solid solution than a lean concrete screed, popular in Poland., poured between the benches.

After removing the wooden formwork block from the reinforced concrete slab, a wedge is made of a waterproof mortar, which allows the installation of horizontal waterproofing made of bituminous roofing under the basement walls, curled outside the contour of the continuous footing, without kinks at right angles.

After the basement walls are constructed, vertical waterproofing is installed, curled outside the strip footings. A coarse gravel substructure is also made around the footings for the circular drainage of the building.
