wooden and wood-based products in construction

The most commonly used modern wooden and wood-based products:

• Drewno klejone warstwowo – It is obtained by gluing a number of layers with parallel fibers arranged in this way, that the manufactured elements have a solid rectangular cross-section. We distinguish horizontally glued laminated timber (the planes of the glue joints are horizontal) and vertically

• Płyty wiórowe OSB (Oriented Strand Boards) -A three-layer plate with oriented flat chips, which consists of rectangular flat chips, hot pressed with a special binder. It is a plate used as a sheathing of wall and ceiling frame structures.

• Płyty wiórowe – Made of wood shavings joined with synthetic adhesives under pressure, at elevated temperature. Their surface may be: natural, ground, oklejona supplyem, laminated or varnished; are used for the production of door leaves, on the floor coverings, roofs, e.t.c.

• Płyty pilśniowe – Made by pressing a mass of wood fibers under high temperature and pressure. There are plates: soft porous (for sound and heat insulation), hard and very hard (floor, e.t.c.).

• Sklejki – Boards glued with an odd number of veneer layers, wherein the fibers of the adjacent glued layers are mutually perpendicular. At least a thickness of plywood is used for the construction elements 8 mm and humidity not exceeding 10%. Plywood with less thickness (but above 5 mm) it can be used for wall cladding.

• Forniry i okleiny – Thin sheets of different types of wood, for gluing surfaces made of other materials.
