When cutting metal sheets, do not use devices that heat up the cut sheets, e.g. angle grinders, however, the use of hand tools or specialized equipment is recommended (like for example. the so-called. niblers or jigsaws). During installation of varnished trapezoidal sheets, the filings generated by cutting the sheets should be removed; as they can cause accelerated corrosion of the coating. Any damage to the coating should be painted with touch-up paints.
Selected elements and accessories of roofing finishing. Their use depends on the roof structure and the type of corrugated sheets used. When installing ridge tiles, use a sealing tape and appropriate fasteners. The distances between the fixing points must not exceed 300 mm, and the overlap width of subsequent ridge tiles should be min. 100 mm.
A roof-gutter cover is used for the eaves flashings and it should be installed with an overlap 30 mm. It is recommended to use sealants between the sheet and the cover. However, you must remember to ensure proper air circulation. The use of a valley gutter is conditioned by the roof structure. The overlaps under the trapezoidal sheet should be no less than 150 mm. The baskets must be attached to the battens together with the trapezoidal sheet at intervals of 300 mm, with the use of sealants.
Windbreaks act as covers of the side gables of buildings. They should be fastened with pop-rivets or fasteners at a distance not greater than 300 mm, using at least 100 mm overlaps – to the nearest high fold and tape seals.
The snow barrier acts as a protection against snow sliding from the roof (it should be used especially above the entrance to the house). This barrier should be installed with appropriate fasteners in the place of the installed years.
Plastic ventilation pipes are mounted to the roof slopes with sealing flanges. The pipe collar is mounted to be covered with short connectors or pop-rivets and sealed with silicone mass.
Roof hatches and smoke boxes should be installed with the overlap 150 mm and seal at the point of contact. Additional ventilation devices should be attached to the roof structure, and not the sheet metal. Flat and profiled sealing tapes are made of polyurethane foam and are used to seal the joints of sheet metal elements of the roofing.. The shape of the gaskets is adapted to the type of trapezoidal sheet.
Sheet metal work (special), e.g. chimneys, skylight dilatation, attic, e.t.c. made of galvanized and varnished sheet with a thickness 0,55-0,65 mm on special request of the investor.
The method of preparing the batten substrate for the installation of corrugated sheets on the roof slope.
